In order to address key issues and challenges that seek to relieve the vulnerability of the prime beneficiaries– Children, KCDA has embraced and embarked on an age appropriate approach in its programs and activities whose focus has been defined in accordance with ChildFund’s core target categories described as:
- Infants and young children: 0-5 year olds (who are also assessed via their mothers),
- Children: 6-14 year olds,
- Youths: 15-24 year olds.
The Agency has since adopted a life stage approach in its implementation of activities and projects.

LIFE STAGE 2 (6-14 Schoolchild to Preteens)

The Agency hopes to achieve this through implementation of programs that ensures that children & adolescents have positive relationships in supportive homes and communities, children and adolescents have age appropriate literacy, and children are healthy and actively participate in community life.
LIFE STAGE 3 (15-24 Parents and Communities)
In this category, the Agency seeks to improve income and support to youth development and households in its program area.
